Lion Taming 201

When Daniel was thrown into the lion's den, he had no power, no authority, and no way out. Yet while King Darius spent a sleepless, miserable night in his palace, Daniel rested in peace. The man with all the power had none of the peace, and the man with no control had all of it. The difference was the presence of God. Daniel did not come out of the pit demanding justice or defending his reputation, because God had already rendered the only verdict that mattered. His faithfulness ultimately led a pagan king to declare the greatness of God to the entire known world. Daniel's story points us forward to Jesus Christ, who did not simply survive death but conquered it entirely. Whatever pit you are facing today, the same God who was present with Daniel is present with you.
