Lord, Lead Us Forward
After 40 years of wandering, a new generation of Israelites stood at the edge of the Jordan River, ready to enter the land God had promised them. Because they had never been this way before, they needed to follow the presence of God rather than rely on their own instincts. Joshua called the people to consecrate themselves, to set apart their hearts and minds before stepping into what God was about to do. Faith, as demonstrated at the Jordan, is not waiting until you can see the outcome. It is obeying what God has already said before the waters part. The priests stepped into a flooded river before a single drop moved, and only then did God make a way on dry ground. We are responsible for our obedience. God is responsible for the impossible. Whatever new season you are standing at the edge of, the invitation is the same: follow Him forward.
